Paddle through the mangroves at dusk, take a break, then head into the nighttime forest on an approximately seven-hour private tour.
Begin kayaking while daylight remains and, weather permitting, enjoy the orange light of sunset over the waterways. After dark, travel by your guide's vehicle in search of the Amami rabbit and other nocturnal animals.
From afternoon into night, experience the gradual change in Amami's natural world at a pace set for your group alone.
体験の特徴
Enjoy approximately one and a half to two hours on a longer mangrove kayaking route. At high tide, navigate narrow waterways; at lower tide, kayak in deeper water and observe the mudflats. After kayaking, take a break and time for dinner before entering the night forest. The approximately 90-minute night tour is mainly conducted from the vehicle in search of wildlife. Combining kayaking and a night tour in one day also makes this a suitable activity from the afternoon of your arrival day.

Yukie Kato is a nature guide experienced across marine, river and land habitats. Enjoy the waterways slowly by kayak, then look beyond Amami rabbits at night to whatever birds, frogs, snakes or other animals appear that evening.
Because the tour is private, breaks and pace can be adjusted to fatigue levels and the needs of children in your group.

Oceania代表／奄美群島認定エコツアーガイド
山梨県出身。社会人として東京でデザイン関係の仕事に携わった後、ダイビングと出会い、PADIのインストラクター資格を取得。石垣島でダイビングガイドとして経験を積みました。
その後はイルカやクジラなど鯨類への関心を深め、ドルフィンスイムやホエールウォッチング／スイムにも関わるように。奄美へ移住後、ツアーガイド店で経験を積み、2022年に女性ガイドが運営するネイチャーガイド店「Oceania（オーシャニア）」を開業しました。
現在は奄美群島認定エコツアーガイドとして、海・川・沢・滝・生き物を案内。PADI オープンウォーター・スクーバ・インストラクター、PADI スノーケルガイド・インストラクター、JSPA ベーシックインストラクター（レクリエーションカヤック）、潜水士の資格を持ち、冬季はホエールスイムのガイドとしても活動しています。

2:30 p.m. — Meet and check in. Transfer guests travel from their accommodation; others meet at Kuroshio-no-Mori Mangrove Park. Review the tour consent form.
3:20 p.m. — Restroom and convenience-store stop; buy dinner or drinks if needed (food and drink permitted in the vehicle).
4:00 p.m. — Visit a mangrove viewpoint for photos and a restroom break.
4:15 p.m. — Move to the kayak boarding point, prepare equipment and waterproof phone cases, arrange rainwear if needed and learn paddling techniques.
4:30 p.m. — Begin approximately 1.5–2 hours of sunset mangrove kayaking. In fine weather enjoy dusk views; at higher tides explore mangrove tunnels and narrow channels, or at lower tides paddle in deeper water and observe mudflats.
6:30 p.m. — Finish kayaking. Break for dinner or snacks, changing clothes and restrooms.
7:00 p.m. — Begin the night tour. Learn observation rules, look at wildlife photos, and observe the subtropical forest mainly from the vehicle for around 1.5 hours; guests may step outside when changing seats or viewing small animals.
8:30 p.m. — Finish the night tour and take a restroom break. Transfer guests return to their accommodation; others depart on site.
Around 9:00–9:30 p.m. — Finish or arrive at accommodation.
