Amami Rabbit Night Forest Tour
Travel by vehicle through Amami's forests after dark to look for Amami rabbits and other nocturnal wildlife. Observe birds, frogs, snakes, insects, and plants in a small group, depending on what nature reveals that night. Enjoy approximately four hours in the nighttime forest at a pace suited to participants' ages and needs.

Travel slowly by car through Amami's forest after sunset on an approximately four-hour night tour, looking for Amami rabbits and other nocturnal wildlife.
Your guide, Yukie Kato, is a nature guide with a deep appreciation for Amami's environment. Alongside the Amami rabbit, she introduces a wide range of wildlife and plants, including birds, frogs, snakes, insects, aquatic creatures, and vegetation.
Groups are limited to four people. When younger children join, the start time may be brought forward to help accommodate their needs. A private booking is recommended for families traveling with children.

Explore the night forest slowly by car, observing mainly from the vehicle; guests may step outside when changing seats or looking at small animals. Solo participants pay no additional participation fee. A private-group option is also available on request. Depending on conditions, a clear night may include stargazing and photography.

This night tour is about more than spotting an Amami rabbit and heading home. Together, look for the many animals that become active after dark.
Yukie Kato believes curiosity and learning about nature never really end. She values explaining not just species names but their characteristics and behavior.
With a small group, there is time to stop for an interesting animal or adjust the pace if a child becomes sleepy. Enjoying the night forest at your own pace is part of the Oceania experience.

加藤 ゆき枝（かとう ゆきえ）
Oceania代表／奄美群島認定エコツアーガイド
山梨県出身。社会人として東京でデザイン関係の仕事に携わった後、ダイビングと出会い、PADIのインストラクター資格を取得。石垣島でダイビングガイドとして経験を積みました。
その後はイルカやクジラなど鯨類への関心を深め、ドルフィンスイムやホエールウォッチング／スイムにも関わるように。奄美へ移住後、ツアーガイド店で経験を積み、2022年に女性ガイドが運営するネイチャーガイド店「Oceania（オーシャニア）」を開業しました。
現在は奄美群島認定エコツアーガイドとして、海・川・沢・滝・生き物を案内。PADI オープンウォーター・スクーバ・インストラクター、PADI スノーケルガイド・インストラクター、JSPA ベーシックインストラクター（レクリエーションカヤック）、潜水士の資格を持ち、冬季はホエールスイムのガイドとしても活動しています。

7:10 p.m. — Restroom or convenience-store stop; guests can purchase food and drinks as needed (eating and drinking in the vehicle is allowed).
7:55 p.m. — Night tour begins. Learn observation rules, look at photos of wildlife that may appear that night, then drive slowly into the subtropical forest for approximately 1.5–2 hours in search of Amami rabbits and other nocturnal animals. Observation is mainly from the vehicle, although guests may step outside when changing seats or viewing small animals.
9:40 p.m. — Finish the forest tour and take a restroom break. Transfer guests return to their accommodation; rental-car guests depart at the meeting point.
Around 10:40 p.m. — Finish or arrive at the accommodation.
Note: Timing may vary with weather and the group’s pace.
