Amami Rabbit Candle-Making Experience
Create a one-of-a-kind candle inspired by the Amami rabbit. Choose your favorite colors and work alongside a guide who is also a candle artist, turning memories of Amami's nature and your island journey into a small handmade keepsake.

Create a small candle inspired by the Amami rabbit, a forest-dwelling animal found on Amami Oshima, and take home a handmade reminder of your journey.
With Azusa Shirahata, both a guide with Amami no Aasa and a candle artist, choose your colors and make your own rabbit-shaped candle.
This workshop is easy to enjoy on a rainy day or between outdoor activities. It also offers a quiet moment to reflect on the animals you have encountered in Amami's natural surroundings.
体験の特徴
Although the Amami rabbit is usually associated with black fur, your candle can be pink, blue, blended or multicolored rather than entirely black, depending on the coloring used. The fun lies in expressing your own impression of Amami through color rather than making an exact replica. You can also pair the workshop with a night tour—for example, watch rabbits in the forest one evening and make a candle the following day.

この体験の魅力
The Amami rabbit is a nationally designated Special Natural Monument found only on Amami Oshima and Tokunoshima.
A memory of seeing the animal in the night forest, the deep green of the island, or the colors of the starry sky and sea can become a candle in the colors you choose.
This is more than simply making an object: it is a peaceful chance to revisit the natural scenes from your trip and give them a shape. Children and adults alike can enjoy this quieter side of island life, in contrast to outdoor adventures.
ガイド紹介
白畑 梓（しらはた あずさ）
「奄美のあーさ」代表／奄美群島認定エコツアーガイド
奄美大島出身。18歳でバスガイドになる夢を追って上京し、約4年半バスガイドとして各地を案内。
その経験を通して故郷・奄美の価値をあらためて意識するようになり、帰郷後はアマニコガイドサービスで約4年間ガイド経験を積みました。
現在は「奄美のあーさ」代表として、奄美群島認定エコツアーガイド、第二種運転免許を持つドライバー、キャンドルアーティストとして活動。
ウォーターパドルレスキュー資格・上級救命講習の修了など、安全面にも配慮しながら、子育て経験を生かした家族旅行や女性一人旅への細やかなサポートを大切にしています。
「見せる」だけで終わらず、その場所がなぜ大切なのかまで伝えること。
奄美の自然や暮らしを見世物にするのではなく、島の人が受け継いできた環境や文化にゲストと一緒に触れ、「また帰ってきたい」と思える関係をつくることを大切にしています。
お子様連れ、女性一人旅、ご年配の方まで、その日の体調や気分を見ながら無理のないペースで案内し、車内や装備の清潔さ、着替えや飲み物など細かな部分まで整えてお迎えします。
