Combine approximately one and a half to two hours of kayaking through Sumiyo's mangrove forest with a visit to one sightseeing destination of your choice on an approximately five-hour private tour.
This experience is suited to visitors who want to discover more of Amami beyond the mangroves, or who would like to reach beautiful viewpoints or a shop of interest without a rental car. Stops can be selected according to your accommodation area and preferences.
Because the experience is reserved for your group, the pace can be adjusted to your fitness and interests.

Mangrove kayaking follows a longer route through mangrove tunnels and narrow channels rather than a brief out-and-back paddle. Beginners receive careful instruction on using the paddle. Choose one sightseeing stop between northern Amami and Sumiyo, depending on the day’s route. Options to discuss include Tomori Beach, Ayamaru Cape, Amami Park and the Tanaka Isson Memorial Museum, waterfalls, the modama habitat and the Amami Oshima World Heritage Center.

山梨県出身。社会人として東京でデザイン関係の仕事に携わった後、ダイビングと出会い、PADIのインストラクター資格を取得。石垣島でダイビングガイドとして経験を積みました。
その後はイルカやクジラなど鯨類への関心を深め、ドルフィンスイムやホエールウォッチング／スイムにも関わるように。奄美へ移住後、ツアーガイド店で経験を積み、2022年に女性ガイドが運営するネイチャーガイド店「Oceania（オーシャニア）」を開業しました。
現在は奄美群島認定エコツアーガイドとして、海・川・沢・滝・生き物を案内。PADI オープンウォーター・スクーバ・インストラクター、PADI スノーケルガイド・インストラクター、JSPA ベーシックインストラクター（レクリエーションカヤック）、潜水士の資格を持ち、冬季はホエールスイムのガイドとしても活動しています。

8:00 a.m. — Meet and check in. Transfer guests travel from their accommodation; others meet at Kuroshio-no-Mori Mangrove Park. Review the tour consent form.
8:20 a.m. — Visit one sightseeing place or shop of your choice between the pick-up area and the Sumiyo mangroves. Northern possibilities include Tomori Beach, Ayamaru Cape, Amami Park and the Tanaka Isson Memorial Museum, the Two Seas Viewpoint, large banyan trees, waterfalls, the modama habitat or the World Heritage Center. Near Naze, possibilities include waterfalls, Sakibaru Observatory, the modama habitat, the World Heritage Center, a hidden beach with pandanus trees or a forest walk suggested by the guide.
9:50 a.m. — Head to the mangrove forest, stop for a viewpoint photo and restroom break.
10:00 a.m. — Prepare at the kayak boarding point, arrange waterproof phone cases and rainwear, and receive paddling instructions.
10:15 a.m. — Start approximately 1.5–2 hours of mangrove kayaking, including tunnels and narrow channels.
11:30 a.m. — Finish kayaking and take a restroom break. Transfer guests return to their accommodation; others depart on site.
Around 12:30 p.m. — Finish or arrive at the accommodation.
Note: These are example timings for an 8:00 a.m. meet-up. The sightseeing stop may take place before or after kayaking, which is scheduled around high tide.
Ages 4 and over. Older guests may join if healthy and physically able. Participation is not permitted during or with a possibility of pregnancy, or for those with heart or brain conditions, asthma, epilepsy or other conditions involving attacks or seizures.

Sandals or water shoes that can get wet, sneakers and drinks. As needed, bring a hat, change of clothes, towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, motion-sickness medicine and sunglasses.
Wear quick-drying, comfortable clothes and sports sandals with secure heel straps or water shoes. In hot weather, a T-shirt and board shorts are suitable; in cooler weather, add layers such as a windbreaker. Long skirts, tight skirts and wide-legged trousers are unsuitable.
